I have two dogs wearing collars which require these batteries. Neither really activate them to much so power usage should be similar. In one collar the battery seems to last 5-6 months, the other is changed every two weeks. I would say good battery, one collar not functioning quite right. I was paying the lowest price I could find locally for batteries, to have found them for 60% less is great. It was like buying two packs locally and getting three packs free. Now I am good for almost six months as opposed to two. Additionally, I didn’t have to pay any S&H which is a bonus. Definately bookmarked the purchase site in my favorites.

My wife, myself, and our dog MOSES trust these batteries to keep him safe. They are overly expensive and that does not make sense with the low price of other batteries and that is why only 4 stars. We conserve by removing the batteries when we take off his collar at night and he is inside. When the batteries are in, the unit is in the ON mode and the they are constantly draining power just like a cell phone charger regardless of whether or not there is a shock, so we just remove them when not in use and they last much longer. Of course if he sees a rabbit then he goes brain numb and no battery will stop him.

I feel that these batteries are always a little expensive. It would be nice if the manufacturer made these batteries so you could just change out the battery part from the housing instead of replacing the whole thing each time. However, Amazon always carries a better price than the stores AND I got a buy 2 get one free offer with this purchase. I have 2 dogs so it worked out well.

It’s the second time I’m ordering them from Amazon because I’m paying less than half what my local RadioShack charges for the exact same item. Of course, prices go up and down so be careful and make sure you bundle it with something else so you get free shipping. Note that the exact same product is offered by other merchants through Amazon at what may appear to be lower prices. However, they charge for shipping and you may end up paying a lot more that you would if you ordered from Amazon in a ‘free shipping’ bundle.

The only thing you can justly review this on is whether or not it is compatible with the collar it is designed for. Which it is. Giving it less than 5 stars is unfair. Any criticism of the choice of battery for a given collar should be put on the collar, not on the battery. The only exception to this would be if you got a bum battery that died too quickly. Which is unlikely. I have used these in the past and will continue to. Typically they last about 3 months each. This will of course vary if your dog tests the boundaries often and the batter actually has to be used.
