After 17 years of short haired cats, a starved looking long haired cat decided it was time to leave the streets and move onto my front porch and back deck. A couple of weeks later, she had a name, a clean bill of health and a home — and I had my first long haired cat. I also had a house full of black and white cat hair. After being told about the FURminator, I ordered the small size (now marketed with a different color handle as a cat model) with more than a degree of skepticism. Boy was I wrong. I use this on Gypsy a couple of times a week and it has eliminated the shedding problem. She enjoys being brushed and the amount of undercoat it removes is simply unbelievable. I demonstrated it to a neighbor with a Maine Coon and she immediately ordered one. Even my 15 year old short hair enjoys being brushed and while not as dramatic as the case of the long haired cat, the amount of fur removed is impressive. In both cases, the cat’s coats are left sleek and shiny and they don’t have hairball issues. I would advise people to run a flea comb through their cats coat after using the FURminator just to remove all of the dislodged fur.

My little kitty has a dense undercoat. I’ve tried other brushes on her, but they don’t do much. Just like the picture on the item, this special comb gets to the undercoat and pulls up clouds of fur. It’s not sharp (although you shouldn’t rake the kitty with it). The cat enjoyed it, and I’m glad that we tried it outside on the porch rather than in the house . . . use it somewhere where you can sweep up. Remains to be seen if it reduces shedding as advertised, but I can’t see what she would have left to shed.

If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I never would’ve believed it. Yeah…I saw the video on the Amazon product page. But I was still skeptical. Then my sister told me that she bought a FURminator for her cats and that it was great. So, I took the chance. Lo and behold, I am totally AMAZED! When the FURminator arrived, I opened it up and grabbed one of my three cats. After just a couple of strokes with the FURminator, there were gobs of cat hair on the floor. I couldn’t believe it! No wonder there was so much cat hair around the house. After FURminating all three cats, I had enough cat hair to make another cat. I’m hoping regular use of this product will help cut way down on the amount of shedding my cats do around the house.

For those who say the product is overpriced…who knows what they paid for it? I paid $34.99 at Petsmart and felt that it was well worth the money. The cost on Amazon makes it a great deal. You can spend $15.00 on a brush that does next to nothing. I took it out of the package and began to groom my cat immediately (medium long coat). He LOVED it. He was rolling on his back and laying side to side so I could comb him all over. He never did this with the regular comb. I could make a sweater out of the fur it removed using it the first time and it’s not even shedding season yet! Just the effort in vacuuming and elimiating hairballs for the cat makes it well worth the cost. It’s funny how those who complain about the cost don’t mention any benefit to their poor kitty! You just can’t satisfy some people.

I used it on my short-hair dog and I’ve found less hair on the floor now. The product works really well and I’ve noticed people will furminate outdoors and leave clumps of hair. It’s a good idea to do it outside but please try to pick up some of the large clumps. When you don’t it’s like littering or not curbing your dog. It makes us dog owners look bad to non-dog owners.

Unbelievable the amount of cat hair this tool collected on each of our cats. The little 8 pound cat absolutely loves it, the 20 pound cat not so much. I used the medium one on the 20 pound and maybe it worked too well as he now has a thinning spot on his backside. Would recommend using light pressure and sticking with the small one for cats. Overall great for cats, great for humans if you want to minimize fur on furniture.

I love this brush it gets so much hair off my cats (I have three). I can finally pet my cats without getting fur all over my hands and clothes there is less hair on my furniture as well. Anyone with pets should own this brush. The price is so worth it I would buy this brush again without a doubt. I have told all my friends and family because it really is amazing. I am a fabulous red tabby named Midas Mulligan. Recently I moved from Texas to North Carolina. My Texas Cat-Nanny sent me a Furminator a few days ago. I am already addicted to it! I now wait by the patio door. When my Cat-Mum goes out, I dash out on the deck, flop down, and wait to be Furminated. My Cat-Parents are astounded at the amount of loose hair the Furminator removes from me–a sandwich baggie full! Another bonus is that, being a tad portly, I look more svelte after being Furminated. I can’t think of a better present for any cat.

I was going to by one of these today, but $35 to $60 seemed like quite a bit for a dog comb made in china. Taking a good look at the thing, I recognized the blade looking like a blade from a electric hair trimmer. I took my Conair hair trimmer blade and tried it out, and got the same results and hair pile without spending embarras de richesses on a dog comb. there is even two holes of which one could be mounted on a handle. a electric trimmer kit costs around $20 -$30 dollars, usually comes with several blades. You can use the electric attachment to really get the hair off. So if you enjoy paying egregious sums on your pet this is for you to have something to talk about. Rated five expensive stars for creatively gouging you.

The furminator removes far more hair than any other brush, comb, or rake that I have tried. I used it for 4 days straight, 20 minute sessions, on my golden retriever, and she would just stand there very calmly as I brushed her. I also inspected her skin afterwards for irritation or reddening, but didn’t see any problems. The amount of fur removed is amazing! and her coat looked much more smooth and flat. It doesn’t eliminate shedding but it definitely cuts down on it. I know friends who use it on their cats, and if your cat enjoys being brushed, then this is a good tool for them too.

I purchased this brush instead of the “Seen on TV” brand that’s currently going around because I needed a larger surface area for my Alaskan Malamute. This brush works great getting out the undercoat, however it is very time consuming and takes multiple passes of the brush in order to remove the undercoat completely. It also has a habbit of cutting the topcoat hairs unless you apply constant pressure. I use this brush as the final part of a three-part brushing which includes a normal wire brush, a rake brush and finally the FURminator. So far, the rake still does the best job of getting rid of the most amount of undercoat fur.

My sister and I purchased the furminator because we have two dogs and two cats! We didn’t really think that any type of “brush” was worth the price of the furminator, but we were desperately searching for an answer to our shedding issues. All I have to say is that after trying the furminator I will gladly be an official spokesperson! I have begun singing its praises to anyone who will listen! So far, those who I have recommended it to have been extremely surprised and happy at the results. The pictures of the animals laying in piles of fur are very true! Just by brushing our dogs and cats about once every two weeks the amount they shed was probably cut by 75 percent! I have 3 cats, and I have been using a special rubber/gum type brush that kinda grabs the hair as you brush and pulls it away. I thought I had something special until today when I tried this little furminator. Unlike anything I have used on any of my pets before, that is dogs and cats, this is impressive the way it works. It worked best for me by having the brush at almost 90 degrees to the cats body and little pressure, not much as the instructions called for. I was abel to do 90% of my cats bodies while I only did 50% with my other brush. My critters seemed to enjoy the brushing since it was done as if I was petting and scratching them. My cats coat looks so much better and healthier than I have ever seen them. I will be recommending this to all my pet lover friends. It works and for me the fact that there are no replaceable parts is as important.
